SV: Is Elk Hunting a Project?

The idea for this presentation came while Greg was planning for this year’s Archery elk hunt in the mountains outside Flagstaff. “Nearly everything we do is a project – birthday parties, weddings, vacations, and yes, hunting, hence the idea for this presentation”.

Greg became interested in big game hunting in 1999 when his uncle took him on his first elk hunt in Eastern Oregon. Though unsuccessful in this first endeavor, the passion was ignited to continue the pursuit.

Greg will share his insight on how the project of planning for the hunt uses the same process as planning for the big corporate conference.
A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. Hopefully, you will enjoy this analogy, even if you are not a hunter.

Greg is a retired Army Engineer Officer. He has worked a wide variety of projects from rough construction and finish carpentry to combat engineering and resource management. He earned the PMP certification and ITIL certification in 2009. He has a MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management.

Since his retirement from the Army, Greg has worked with government contracting agencies. He is a Capability Developer, currently working on Counter-Improvised Explosive Device solutions for the U.S. Army.
